Andrew "Andy" Bonnette

Andrew “Andy” J. Bonnette,

Age 58, of Afton, passed away unexpectedly at his home on January 3rd, 2024. He is survived by his loving wife, Josie Bonnette; son, Joseph Bonnette; his twin sister Sarah, sisters and brothers, multi generations of nieces and nephews and many more loving family and friends.

Andy was well known in the Catholic community as a sculptor and artist. He followed in his parents footsteps, Gerald and Theresa Bonnette, but worked mainly with bronze like his father. He was a longtime member of Saint Rita’s Catholic Church in Cottage Grove. Andy loved nature, animals, and using his hands to create. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

Andy was working on his final project when he passed. The project will be finished by craftsmen in Omaha Nebraska and will be displayed in St Patrick's Church in Elkhorn, Nebraska. Along with his final work Andy has many pieces of artwork throughout the United States in Iowa, Missouri, Minnesota, and major commissions in Oakland, California at the Cathedral of Christ the light. 

A special thank you to the Washington County Police Department and EMS Department for all the help and aid they’ve provided for Andy and his family over the years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 17th at 11am with a one hour visitation prior at The Church of Saint Rita (8694 80th St S, Cottage Grove, MN 55016).
