Anna Flaherty

Anna Marie Flaherty, age 87, of Hastings, formerly of Woodbury, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 1, 2022 while surrounded by her loving family at Southview Acres in West St. Paul.

Anna Marie Hammerschmidt was born on January 6,1935 to Max and Eva Hammerschmidt in Mahto, South Dakota. She graduated from Park Senior High in Cottage Grove, Minnesota. She had five children: Kevin, Kenneth, Dean, Brian, and Charlene. After the kids were in school, she worked at EcoWater in Woodbury, Minnesota for a couple years. Later she went to work for 3M in St. Paul, Minnesota. She retired from 3M in 1993 and married Louis Flaherty on June 2, 2003. They did a lot of traveling and went on several ocean cruises. Lou passed away on January 21, 2013. She also enjoyed puzzles, reading, embroidery, and lots of Bingo. In her last years, she lived in Oakridge Manor and then Oakridge Assisted Living in Hastings, Minnesota.

Preceded in death by husband, Louis; parents; and five siblings. Survived by children, Kevin (Arcel) Holmstrom, Kenneth Holmstrom, Dean (Tammy) Holmstrom, Brian Holmstrom, and Charlene Holmstrom; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and sister, Irma (Richard) Carlson.

Visitation 4-7 PM, Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 80th St. S., Cottage Grove, MN, 55016. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM with visitation beginning at 10 AM, Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Church of St. Rita, 8694 80th St. S., Cottage Grove, MN, 55016. Burial to follow at Cottage Grove Cemetery, Cottage Grove, MN.
