Ardis Ellen Koppen (nee Anderson), age 93, completed her earthly journey to the arms of Jesus on September 14, 2025 with her 3 children at her bedside loving on her.
Ardis was born to John and Elsie Anderson in Mankato, MN on December 21, 1931. Her high school years were attended at So St Paul High School. On September 5, 1953, she married Charles Koppen. They were blessed with 3 children and raised their family in their home that they built in rural Woodbury in 1956. She lived in this home until the time of her death.
Ardis was a devoted and nurturing stay-at-home mother until all her children were in school. She then started a job in 1967-1995 at Wilder Residence working as Lead Housekeeping. She adored the elderly residence and worked hard. She was widowed at age 58. Life brought new adventures after her adjustment. She loved on her grandchildren, traveled with her sister and friends, and avidly read. Attending church and reading her Bible were important to her. As a Swede, she lived her life with determination and fortitude.
Ardis loved watching the birds in her backyard and enjoyed the field of wildflowers that were planted for her. She was an enthusiast for houseplants. She baked the best ginger snap cookies and healthy muffins. Also, she was a good cook in which we were the recipients of over the years. Truly a mother that blessed her family in so many ways over the years.
Ardis enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Alex (Amber) Argo with Alister, Elizabeth (Shawn) Wahlstrom with Sophia and Theodore, Stephanie (Ben) Copenhaver with Eli, and Katherine (Connor) Teigen; (step) Jennifer (Craig) Roers with Ethan and Archer; Amanda Koppen with Darius and Destiny. She attended many birthday parties and enjoyed the festivities with cake and chocolate chip cookies.
Ardis is survived by her children, Karen (Gerald) Argo, David (Terese) Koppen, and Steven Koppen (Pam Becker Lang); two sisters, Arlene Westphal and Mary Jean (Dave) Forster, brother, Arthur Anderson; sister-in-law, Helen Koppen, and aunt to many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Eldridge, in 1989.
Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at North Heights Church, 2701 Rice St., Roseville, MN with visitation beginning at 10:00 am. All are welcome to join family for a luncheon in the fellowship hall following the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations preferred to North Heights Church Special Needs Ministry, Boys Town (organization), ALS Society, or memorial of choice.
