Arthur Schroeder

Age 89 of Newport went peacefully to be with our heavenly father January 11, 2009 .

Arthur was raised in Cashton , Wisconsin and graduated from Cashton High School . On May 3, 19 47 he was united in marriage with Mary Panek in Holdingford , Minnesota . He served in the United States Army during World War II. He retired from American Can Co. after 28 years of service.

Beloved husband of Mary; loving father of Sharon (Jim) Richmond, Mary (Clay “Spike”) Grovum, Carol (Gary) Crossley, Jane Arneson, Bob (Carol Howard), John; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers Clarence (Lorraine), Cletus (Rita), Marion, Clara Mae (Larry); sisters-in-law Catherine & Ginger; many nieces & nephews.

Preceded in death by parents Gertrude & John; brothers Sylvester (Veronica), Arnold, John, and infant brother; great-granddaughter Ashley.

Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Saturday at ST. THOMAS AQUINAS CATHOLIC CHURCH , 920 Holley, St. Paul Park . Interment church cemetery. Visitation 4-8 PM Friday at Kok funeral home, 1201 Portland Ave , S t. Paul Park (651-459-2875) and 10-11 AM Sat. at church.
