Audrey Wertheimer

Audrey June Wertheimer, 95, passed away Friday, April 29, 2022 at the Valle Vista Manor in Lewistown, MT due to natural causes and surrounded by her loving family.

Audrey was born on June 26, 1926 in St. Paul, MN to David and Beatrice (Maendler) Hayden. She graduated from Derham Hall Catholic School.

Audrey was united in marriage to the love of her life, Henry Wertheimer Jr. on May 17, 1947 in St. Paul, MN. Together they shared 64 wonderful years creating great memories which included many trips between MN and MT, Pitzer Horse Sales, and visiting both Yellowstone and Glacier Parks. They were both fond of Flathead Cherries and Huckleberries. Henry passed away on June 14, 2011.

Audrey was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a tremendous cook, exceptional athlete in a number of sports with swimming being at the top of the list. Audrey loved her dogs and enjoyed taking them for walks. She enjoyed holidays and especially spending Christmas with her family. In later years, she enjoyed watching the Vikings, Lynx, and Twins.

Audrey loved and supported her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and always made sure she attended all of their events. She was a part of the Utica Women’s Club for many years and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. In Minnesota, Audrey was a Eucharistic Minister and CCD instructor at St. Thomas Aquinas.

Audrey is survived by her children: daughters, Audrey Schultz of Granby, CO, Sue (Bill) Berndt of St. Paul, MN, and Bea (Jeff) Raths of Roundup, MT; sons, Henry III “Bob” (Jane) Wertheimer and Paul (Janet) Wertheimer all at the family ranch at Utica, MT; 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Henry Jr.; four siblings and their spouses; and her parents.

A special thank you to the staff at Caslen Living and Valle Vista Manor for the compassionate and tender care they extended to Audrey during her last days. Memorial donations are requested to CMMC Hospice or a charity of your choice.

Services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hobson on Saturday, May 7th, 2022, 11:00 a.m. Viewing will be at church from 9:00 a.m. until service time. A luncheon will follow at Tall Boys. Rite of Committal will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Wednesday, May 11th, 11:00 a.m., St. Paul, MN.
