Bernice was born

23 and was raised in the Morris area. She graduated from
Appleton
High School
. On
February 14, 19
44 she was united in marriage with Thomas Detviler in
San Francisco
. Tom died in 2000. Music was an important part of Bernice’s life and she will be remembered for her devotion to her family. She also enjoyed singing, playing the keyboard, and traveling.
Bernice was preceded in death by her husband Tom; granddaughter Nettie; and sister Bonita.
She is the beloved mother of Richard (Susan), Donna Savage, Jerome (Irene), Pat (Tim) Donovan, Thomas (Mollie), Ron (Laurie); 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Betty (Harris) Hoyer; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
