Beverly Schmitz (Enstad)
Age 75, of Newport
Beverly died in the presence of her family on May 9, 2021, and is at peace after a short battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Born in St. Paul, MN, and graduating from St. Paul Park High School, Beverly called Newport, MN home for all of her adult life. She took great pride in her town, church, and a lifetime full of friends and family. Beverly and her husband Mike built their Newport home from the ground up in 1974 and had fun telling stories about cooking on the grill for a year. She even perfected brownies on the grill! Bev generously shared her love of nature, music, and theatre, with her grandchildren (human and fur babies alike), friends, and family. Volunteering at church and the local women's shelter was near to her heart. During 57 years of marriage, Bev and Mike enjoyed nature, car shows, traveling with friends, spending time in Hawaii, and doting on her grandchildren.
Preceded in death by father, Henry Enstad; and step-father, Clarence Klaers.Survived by mother, Betty Klaers; husband, Michael W. Schmitz Jr.; children, Michael III (Susan) Schmitz and Stephanie (Marty) Rice; grandchildren, Anna Schmitz, Mary Schmitz, and Michael Schmitz; siblings, Sandy (Fawaz) Alami, JoAnn (Ralph) Johnson, Bonnie Enstad, Linda (James) Sund, John (Kathy) Enstad, Patty Enstad, Jean Reinert, Cathy Enstad, Henry Enstad Jr., and Jeff (Kalei) Enstad; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
