Bill Spears

Bill Spears, age 83 of Cottage Grove, Minnesota passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 8, 2026. 

Bill was born on October 27, 1942 to John and Erma (Sigford) Spears in Valparaiso, Indiana. For years he grew up in Indiana until he was 12. While living in Indiana, being born club footed he had multiple surgeries his first ten years. After moving to Minnesota, he grew up on the family farm in White Bear Lake. He lived a very adventurous and rowdy life before settling down in the 80s. That is when he learned auto upholstery which became his final lifelong career. He eventually built a business and was able to bring it home to spend his days with his then wife and still closest friend Sue Spears.

Bill is survived by his siblings Roxy (Bob), Rick (Barb) and Sandy; children Michelle (Larry), Scott (Donna), Billy (Lisa), Kurt, Jacob (Kim), Amanda (John), Tammy and Tonya; daughter-in-law Toni; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister Sharron; son John; daughter Terese.
