Christopher "Chris" Long

Christopher “Chris” Long died peacefully on July 9, 2022 in St. Paul, MN at the age of 52.

Chris is survived by his parents Ron and Liz Long; children Hannah and Alison; sister, Laura (Long) Hegrenes; fiance, Nissa Schaefer. He is preceded in death by Grandparents.

Chris was born on February 4 in Des Moines, Iowa to Ron and Liz Long. He graduated from St. Cloud University with a BA degree. Chris married Malinda DaVae Johnson in 1996. After moving to Colorado, Chris began working for American Furniture Warehouse as a Graphic Designer. After several years the family moved to St. Paul Park, Minnesota where Chris continued his Graphic Design career establishing his own business. His children remember him as a fun-loving, caring father who encouraged them to follow their hearts.

Chris was a likable, easy-going, warm, caring, talented, good guy who loved life and Star Wars. He enjoyed camping, music, art, boating, mountains and many friends.

A funeral will be July 18th, 2022 11-12:00 at Kok Funeral Home, 1201 Portland Avenue, in Saint Paul Park  with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will also be held on Sunday, July 17, 4pm-8pm at Kok Funeral Home. Interment will be held at the Cottage Grove Cemetery, Cottage Grove, Minnesota. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Chris’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to family. The family would like to thank caregivers and United Hospital staff for their care and dedication.

In honor of Chris, T-shirts, jeans, and baseball caps are encouraged to be worn.
