Concha Pickerign

Concha “Connie” Pickerign, 91, of Cottage Grove, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, October 11, 2022.

Connie was a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, and great-grandmother. She grew up in El Paso, Texas and at age 18 moved to San Francisco and onto San Jose, California. Ultimately making her way to Minnesota and putting down roots after meeting and marrying, the love of her life, her husband of 64 years, Archie.

Connie was a woman of deep faith and lived quietly large. She loved flowers, birdwatching, music, puzzles, painting, traveling, and creating lasting memories with her family, grandchildren, extended family, and numerous friends. She was a fierce Rummikub player! She was happiest spending time with her family during holidays, celebrations, and summers fishing on their pontoon at Balsam Lake.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Archie; parents, Melesio and Angelina; parents-in-law, Archie and Gladys; daughter-in-law, Debbie; son-in-law, Den; brother, Reuben; sister, Eva (Armando); sisters-in-law, Virginia (Lloyd), Pat (Mike), Jean (Lee), and Jan (Jim); brothers-in-law, Doug, and Dennis; and great-granddaughter, Lucy.

Connie will be deeply missed by her children, Archie (Peggy), Geno (Denise), Tony, Pam (Brian), Rita, and Perry (Rachel); step-children, Mike (Carol), Larry, and Mary; grandchildren, Charlie (Cassie), Will (Anne), Geno Jr. (Melissa), Cory, Sherah (Andy), Joshua, Samuel, Anna, Arielle, and Ella; great-grandchildren, Lottie, Claire, Olivia, Bobby, Klara, and Declan; step-grandchildren, Jennifer, Larry, Mike, Sharon, Mitch, Heidi, Jolayne, Mike, and Leann; brother, Miguel “Mike” (Suki); sisters, Gloria and Raquel; brother-in-law, Tom (Sandy); sisters-in-law; Geraldine (Leonard), Sandy, and Grace; and many other loving family members and friends.

Visitation will be Sunday, November 6 from 3-6 PM at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 80th St. S, Cottage Grove.  Funeral Service will be Monday, November 7 at 11 AM with visitation one hour prior at Hope Community Church, 8300 Hyde Ave. S, Cottage Grove.  Interment at Cottage Grove Cemetery.
