David Hartenstein

David Bruce Hartenstein, of Hastings, passed away on November 20, 2017 with his family at his side. He will be remembered as a caring man whom everyone knew with a kind soul. David was born July 17, 1954 in St. Paul to Verne & Phyllis (Nord). He grew up in St. Paul Park, graduating from Park High School in 1972. He was a self-taught drummer and after high school he perused his musical career playing in a band touring around the country.  He worked for Northwest/Delta Airlines for 29 years and spent his last years working for Tennis Sanitation before his retirement. Dave was a member of the American Legion in St. Paul Park and Musicians Union. He was the rock of his family and will be deeply missed; his legacy will live on through his family.

David is survived by his loving wife, Janet; children, Jadie (Matt Tix), David Jeffrey (Amanda); grandchildren, Lace, Mercedes, Tasha, Desmond, Daniel, Logan, Kendra, and Emilee; siblings, Sandy Kasten, Michael, and Diane (Charles) Ehlers; many other family and friends.  Preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Barbara McCauley, Edward.

Memorial service 11:30 am, Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Community United Church of Christ (1145 Summit Ave. St. Paul Park) with a luncheon to follow at the American Legion in St. Paul Park. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to the family.
