Dawn Marie Lawrence, age 54 of Cottage Grove went to be at home with her heavenly Savior after being taken much too soon by cancer.
Dawn was born March 19, 1966 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Jerry and Carol (Kosanke) Kiekhoefer. She grew up on the East Side of St. Paul and graduated from Harding High School in 1984. Dawn was united in marriage to Jeffrey Lawrence on November 2, 1996 in St. Paul and they made their home in Oakdale for a few years before moving to Cottage Grove in 2003.
She enjoyed playing softball, scrapbooking, going to garage sales and also enjoyed a good “binge watch” on TV. Dawn was a part of many memorable camping trips or maybe better referred to as “glamping trips”. She was a genuine, sweet and compassionate person who loved her family and wore the title of grandma proudly. Dawn was very proud of her 35 years of sobriety and earning her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.
She is preceded in death by her father Jerry. Dawn is survived by her beloved husband of 24 years Jeffrey; daughter Madison Kiekhoefer; step-son Andrew (Katie) Lawrence; mother Carol Kiekhoefer; grandchildren Cora and Jaxson; siblings Jerry (Lisa), Russ, Jodi, and Sandi (Andy) as well as many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews.
