Donna Lee McKee was born August 6, 1947 in St. Paul the daughter of Charles Roy McKee Jr. and Esther Marie (nee Elliott). She was raised in Little Canada and graduated from Roseville High School in 1965. On May 15, 1965 she married Marcus Mathison at North Heights Lutheran Church in Little Canada.
Marcus died in January of 1994. Donna married William James (Jim) Violett at Newport Lutheran Church on October 15, 2005. She was employed for 15 years at Thomson-West Publishing. She also worked part-time at the Kohls Store in Woodbury. She enjoyed vacations, traveling, going to car shows, and driving in the convertible. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Beloved wife of Jim; loving mother of Toni (Doug) Dahl of Woodbury, Mark (Kelly) Mathison of North Branch, Amanda Mathison (Kevin Pickett) of Waite Park, Jenny (Steve) Robeck of St. Michael; grandmother of Zach Mathison, Kaylee Dahl, Jorden & Jaden Mathison, Jake Robeck; daughter of Esther McKee of Vadnais Heights; sister of Char (Bob) Kustermann of Maplewood, JoAnne (Bill) Miller of Vadnais Heights; best friend of Janice Downing of Newport.
Preceded in death by husband Marcus Mathison, father Charles McKee Jr.; brothers Chuck & Tom.
Funeral Service 11 AM Wednesday December 28 at NEWPORT LUTHERAN CHURCH, 900 15TH St. Interment Newport Cemetery. Visitation 4-8 PM Tuesday with a 7 PM prayer Service at KOK FUNERAL HOME, 1201 Portland Ave. ST. Paul Park (651-459-2875) and 10-11 AM Wed at church.
