Edmund Mazur Jr.

July 29, 1940 — January 11, 2019

Edmund “Ed” L. Mazur Jr. passed away at Woodbury Senior Living in Minnesota on January 11th, 2019 at 4:15 PM, at the age of 78.  A private celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.

Ed was born July 29th, 1940 in Chicago, the son of Edmund L. Mazur Sr. and Pearl Mazur (Murawski).  He married Doris Carpenter in 1963.

He is survived by his loving wife, Doris, of 55 years.  Ed is lovingly remembered by his sons, Edmund L. Mazur III and Kurt (Tammy) Mazur, his sister, Kathy Krol, step-brother, Duncan Sinclair, and his four grandchildren, Katie Goetz (Matt), Edmund L. Mazur IV, Clayton Mazur, and Colby Mazur.

Ed is preceded in death by his father, Edmund L. Mazur Sr., mother, Pearl Mazur (Murawski), step-mother Adeline Mazur (Kozlowski) and brothers Bob and Adam Mazur.

Ed was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago, residing in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago for the better part of his life.  He also spent 15 years of his life in Treasure Island, FL and 10 years in Cottage Grove, MN.

Ed graduated from Junior College and became a draftsman, drawing up building and house plans.  He was an Assistant Construction Manager for F.W. Woolworth’s Central Region and retired at age 54.

Some of Ed’s favorite pastimes were attending his children’s sporting events and coaching baseball while his kids were growing up; he loved baseball, especially the Chicago White Sox.  He also enjoyed: musicals, TV westerns, woodworking and putting together model airplanes, cars and trains as well as looking at car and sports magazines.
