Elaine Schmitz,

Age 88, of Cottage Grove, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2023. Elaine was a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother and in her spare time was a passionate gardener as well as an avid birdwatcher.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Schmitz; parents, Wayne and Ann Smith and sister, Diane Smith.

She is survived by her children, Gary (Cathy) Schmitz, Mike Schmitz, Linda (Willie) Tennis, Terri (Jim) Weizenegger; brother, Gary (Cathy) Smith; 9 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren as well as other loving friends and family.
