Frederic F. Moche of Cottage Grove, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday November 14, 2023, surrounded by his wife and children.  

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am, Saturday, January 20, 2024 at The Church of St. Rita, 8694 80th Street S., Cottage Grove, MN with visitation starting at 10 am until the time of service.  Burial will take place at a later date in Bankondji Village, Cameroon.

He was born on February 1, 1944, in Bankondji, Cameroon to Fayeu Moni and Ma Ngabe. He was the youngest sibling of a family of 4.

He went to Catholic school in Mbanga, Cameroon and then continued to the Federal University in Yaounde where he graduated in law and economic sciences, before graduating from the National School of Administration and Magistracy of Cameroon.

Frederic was a retired judge of the Supreme Court of Cameroon and member of the Cameroon Higher Judicial Council.

He dedicated his life to public service and the pursuit of justice. His extraordinary journey led him to assume different positions in the Cameroonian's judiciary system, among them, president of the Social Chamber, Legislation Director, appeal court judge where he left an indelible mark on the legal landscape.

Frederic was a retired judge of the Supreme Court of Cameroon.

In addition to his many career achievements, he was known for being a devoted Christian, an avid walker, tennis player, an indomitable Lions soccer team fan, a peaceful village environment aficionado, and in particular his love for and devotion to his close and extended family.

Frederic was also known for his countless contributions to the social and economic development of his village Bankondji. He created and led several organizations devoted to this purpose. His numerous contributions, actions and efforts had him gain the highest and honorific title of “Wambe Soh Mbugwe; “Father of the Nation”; given by the king of Bankondji village.

Frederic was a gentle soul. His calm and welcoming affect made everyone who met him feel accepted and understood.

With his deep roots in his country, city and community, Frederic and his wife continue to live at their family home in Yaoundé, Cameroon until his passing during a short stay in Cottage Grove, MN.

Frederic is survived by his wife of 55 years, Eleine K. Moche, 3 sons: Andre, Patrick, Hector; 4 daughters: Carole, Evelyn, Nathalie and Paule; 13 grandchildren: Bradley, Caitlyn, Frederic, Logan, Daphne, Yohann, Angela, Anthony, Enzo, Elena, Ryan, Aaron and Noah.

He will also be sadly missed by one brother: Lucas, many half-brothers, half-sisters, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Il était le cadet d'une fratrie de quatre enfants.  Il a fait son cycle primaire, élémentaire et secondaire à Mbanga, au Cameroun, puis a poursuivi ses études supérieures à l'Université Fédérale de Yaoundé, où il a obtenu un diplôme en droit et sciences économiques, avant de terminer ses études à l'école Nationale d'Administration et de Magistrature du Cameroun.

Frédéric était magistrat à la retraite.  Il a consacré sa vie au service public et à la quête de la justice. Son parcours extraordinaire l'a amené à occuper différents postes dans le système judiciaire camerounais, laissant une empreinte indélébile sur le paysage juridique.

Il a été Président de la cour d'appel de l'Ouest, ensuite Président de la cour d'appel du Nord après un passage au ministère de la Justice du Cameroun comme Directeur de la Législation.

Il a servi à la Cour Suprême du Cameroun comme conseiller et président de la Chambre Social. Il était également membre du Conseil supérieur de la Magistrature du Cameroun.

Frédéric avait un amour dévoué pour Bankondji son village natal. Il était reconnu pour ses nombreuses contributions économiques et sociales a Bankondji. Il a créé et dirigé le CRABA ; Cercle de Réflexion et D'action du village Bankondji. Ses innombrables œuvres pour l'harmonie et le développement du village lui ont valu le titre honorifique de Notable Bankondji et de noblesse 'Wambe Soh Mbugwe', donné par le chef Bankondji.

Outre ses nombreuses réussites professionnelles, il était connu pour être un chrétien dévoué, un marcheur assidu, un joueur de tennis, un fervent supporter de l'équipe de football Lion indomptable du Cameroun, un amateur de l'environnement paisible du village, et surtout pour son amour et sa dévotion envers sa famille proche et élargie.

Frédéric était une belle âme. Son calme et son accueil chaleureux faisaient que quiconque le rencontrait se sentait accepté et compris.

Avec ses racines profondes dans son pays, sa ville et sa communauté, Frédéric et sa femme ont continué à vivre dans leur maison familiale à Yaoundé, au Cameroun, jusqu'à son décès lors d'un bref séjour à Cottage Grove, MN.

Frederic laisse derrière lui son épouse, Eleine K. Moche, marié depuis 55 ans, 3 fils : André, Patrick, Hector ; 4 filles : Carole, Evelyn, Nathalie et Paule ; 13 petits-enfants : Bradley, Caitlyn, Frederic, Logan, Daphné, Yohann, Angela, Anthony, Enzo, Elena, Ryan, Aaron et Noah. Il manquera beaucoup à son frère Lucas, à de nombreux demi-frères, demi-sœurs, nièces, neveux et membres de la famille élargie.
