Genevieve Marie (Busch) Smith, longtime resident of Cottage Grove, passed away on February 25th, 2018 at age 88. Born January 25th, 1930 in Jordan MN. Preceded in death by husband George J. Smith Jr. (1989) and parents Genevieve (nee Mechtel) and Albert Busch. Survived by her children, Michael (Patty); Diane Norton; Teresa (Terry) Christensen; grandsons, Austen Smith (Julianne), Ryan Norton, Matthew Norton; great grandson, Patrick Smith; sister, Donna Kasbohm; brothers, Merrill, Noel and Calvert Busch. Funeral Mass at The Church of St. Rita, 8694 80th Street S., Cottage Grove at 11 am, Thursday, March 1, 2018 with visitation one-hour prior. Private internment at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials to The Church of St. Rita Building Fund.
