, age 68 of St. paul Park died early Sunday morning, January 31, 2010 at Regions Hospital in Saint Paul .

George Harrison Wakat was born January 21, 19 42 in Chicago , Illinois the son of Emory & Ida Mae (Strickland) Wakat. He was raised in Bourbonnais , Illinois and Fort Myers , Florida . On February 1, 19 69 he was united in marriage with Barbara Irene Motheral in Vadmais Heights , Minnesota . George was tall in many ways. He will be remembered for his inventing. He loved music, horses, history and researching. He enjoyed his nieces and nephews, downhill skiing, and politics.

George is the beloved husband of Barbara; brother of Dr. Diane, Cindy, Rita (Jim) Wronkiewicz, Mary (William) Drasler, Judge Adrienne (Don) Albrecht, Jeffrey, Marc (Kristi); brother-in-law of Sue; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Emory & Ida; sister Rosy; brother Emory.

Funeral Service 1 PM Thursday at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 70 ^th Street & Hinton, Cottage Grove. Visitation 4-8 PM Wednesday at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 80 ^th St. S. Cottage Grove . Graveside service 11 AM Saturday at All Saints Cemetery, Bourbonnais.
