Grace Helen Jacobson

Passed away peacefully November 7, 2025 at Saint Therese. 

Grace Helen Markgren was born December 14, 1936 in Cumberland Wisconsin to Carl and Violetta Markgren. She graduated from Cumberland High School in 1954 and soon moved to Minneapolis with two friends and began working for Alcoa. By fate, Grace met the love of her life, Sigurd Jacobson, through her future mother-in-law while Sig was serving in the Navy. They married September 7, 1957 and raised three children. 

Grace stayed busy raising her children with her Saint Paul Park community of friends and neighbors. After all the kids started school, she went back to work and was proud of her career working in Marketing and Administration for Super America, Cenex, Land O' Lakes and more. She loved working and was a valuable team member of every company she was a part of. Beyond work, she used her gifts to be active in her community. She was in the choir and served as treasurer for All Saints Church, as well as volunteering for Loaves and Fishes.

Grace and Sig loved to travel. They enjoyed camping with the family, and in the early 80's built a cabin in Cumberland, WI. In their later years, Grace and Sig enjoyed traveling the world together and with friends. They especially loved Europe, Central America, Hawaii and many trips to Florida. 

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Sigurd; six siblings John (Shirley) Markgren, Marian (Reynold) Erickson, George (Anette) Markgren, Athlee (George) Lindberg, Earl (Sharon) Markgren and Paul Markgren.

She is survived by her three children Julie (Daniel) Aulwes, Mark (Janet) Jacobson and Steven (Jennifer) Jacobson; grandchildren Gregory (Karen Aulwes Deuschle) Aulwes, Michael (Ashley) Aulwes, Tory (Laura Garza) Jacobson, Riley Jacobson and Reese Jacobson; great grandchildren Elizabeth, Jacob, Caleb, Isaac, Malaya, Chesa and Griffin; sisters in law Judy Markgren and Esther Jacobson, as well as many nieces and nephews. 

She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
