Gregg Carlson, age 58 of Cottage Grove, Minnesota passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 23, 2025.
Gregg was born on May 12, 1967, in St. Paul, Minnesota to Noman and Susan (Nord) Carlson. He grew up on the East Side of St. Paul and graduated from Johnson High School, class of 1985. He later went to Northwestern Electronics Institute and received an electronics degree.
After receiving his electronics degree, he worked at a few places before joining Marco Technologies where he worked for 26 years as Field Service Technician with a focus on production printers and copiers.
He married his wife Sherilyn in June of 1994, and they moved to Cottage Grove, Minnesota. In October of 1996 they welcomed their son Brady into the world. They were married for 31 years until his passing.
Gregg enjoyed working on and driving classic cars, hunting, fishing, spending time at the family cabin, watching sports (especially hockey and football), attending special events like: the Boys State High School Hockey Tournament, Wild hockey games, and all of Brady’s hockey and football games, and also loved to go for a walk and play with the family dog. Gregg was always willing to lend a helping hand, and he was a Mr. Fix-it, a jack of all trades.
Gregg will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and Christian man. Family always came first; there wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for family! Gregg wasn’t shy about voicing his opinion or showing his pride in his country and in his son. Gregg was brutally honest, he told people how things are and didn’t sugar coat things. Gregg was amazingly quick-witted and could joke and argue with the best of them. Gregg was one of the best men you could ever meet or be around.
Gregg is survived by his wife Sherilyn; son Brady; mother Susan; and siblings Daniel and Steven; and dog Yukon. He is preceded in death by his father Norman.
Memorial Service will be at 11am on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at New Life Church of Woodbury 6758 Bailey Road, Woodbury, MN 55129 with a visitation beginning at 10am. All are invited to a light luncheon following the service.
