Hannah Johnston

Hannah A. Johnston, a strong and amazing woman, passed away at her home on Thursday morning, June 25, 2009, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2009 from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m., with a time of sharing at 6:30 p.m. at KOK FUNERAL HOME, 1201 Portland Avenue , St. Paul Park . Burial will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. www.kokfuneral.com

Hannah A. Johnston was born February 18, 1982 in Saint Paul , Minnesota , the daughter of David and Carol (Marlow) Bratzel. She grew up in St. Paul and graduated from Christ’s Household of Faith in 2000. She attended Augsburg College . She was united in marriage to Jeffrey Johnston on June 16, 2007. The couple made their home in St. Paul Park . Hannah had worked as a special needs nanny, providing care in Blake’s home for Max, Maddie, and “her Oskar”. She enjoyed art, design, music and was extremely creative. She had played basketball both in high school and college and had a passion for children.

She is survived by her husband, Jeff of St. Paul Park, parents, David & Carol Bratzel of Saint Paul, step children; Tad, Nate, Hunter, Celeste & Jocelyn Johnston all of St. Paul Park, her brothers; Immanuel of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Noah, Luke (Ellen), Isaac, Will, Ira & Ben Bratzel all of Saint Paul, her sisters; Regel (Walter) Warneke, Irena & Grace Bratzel all of Saint Paul & Grandma Marlow, also many aunts, uncles & cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Anne Sweeny.
