Helen Goulet, age 86 of Cottage Grove passed away on October 14, 2021.
Helen was extremely talented, and her list of accomplishments would be a mile long. Her flower gardens were stunning, and they were a testament to the hundreds of hours she would spend weeding, raking, and seeding. If you couldn’t find Helen in one of her many flower gardens, you would most likely find her on her riding mower. Her work ethics were second to none as her workday went from sunup to sundown and beyond.
Helen could prepare the most amazing 4 course meal and then follow with a desert that no one could resist no matter how full you were. She was a beautician, an artist, a seamstress and much more. Her home-made raspberry jam was the best in the world, and she could carve a pumpkin like no other. Helen was passionate about many things and never took on a task without giving 110 percent. She was very active in the community and volunteered countless hours to the Athletic Association of Cottage Grove.
Helen liked to dance and golf, and she never turned down a board game or deck of cards. She absolutely loved the MN Twins and was an avid sports fan.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother grandmother, and great grandmother. Her family was everything to her. She was a breath of fresh air and had a wicked sense of humor and there was nothing she wouldn’t do for anyone. She was selfless in someone else’s time of need and was a great comfort and confidant to many.
Helen’s life was full as she was surrounded by family and friends. She always had a fresh pot of coffee and home-made cookies. She was a mentor, a leader and a lover of life. She will leave behind a wonderful legacy laced with many rich stories and memories for all of those who were blessed to have been a part of her amazing journey through life.
