Janice Arlene Weber

Janice Weber, age 86, of Cottage Grove, Minnesota passed away peacefully on September 21, 2026 surrounded by her family.

Janice Arlene Weber was born on July 8, 1940 in South St. Paul to Sid and Laura Running. After graduating from high school she worked as a bookkeeper at the Stockyards before meeting the love of her life, Melvin Weber at a polka dance. Janice and Melvin were united in marriage June 17, 1961. They made their home in Cottage Grove in 1963 to raise their four children and have been lifelong residents. Once her children were older, she went to work for Sherman Insurance Agency where she spent the remainder of her career.

Janice and Melvin enjoyed many years of vacationing in their motor home and traveling to Polka Festivals over the weekends. When she wasn't dancing, Janice enjoyed reading mystery books, bowling and baking for which she was known for her delicious kolaches. She will be remembered for her generous, kind spirit and quick wit but the heart of her life revolved around her family in which she especially cherished time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all.

Janice is survived by her husband of 65 years Melvin; children Keith (Pamela) Weber, Nancee (Mark) Bohlke, Randy (Michele) Weber; grandchildren Erin (Andy) Villella, Ryan Weber, Neil (Becky) Weber, Toby (Katie) Bohlke, Mitchell (Amber) Bohlke, Kylie Weber, Ellen (Caleb) Weber, Ben (Emily) Weber, Andrew Weber, Zachary Luger and Spencer Luger; 12 great grandchildren. Janice is preceded in death by her parents Sid and Laura Running; brother Wayne (Shirley) Running; son Lynn Weber and great granddaughter Lydia Villella.

Memorial service will be at 11 AM on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 80th Street S.; Cottage Grove, MN with visitation beginning at 10 AM. All are invited to a luncheon following the service.
