Jax Richard Affolter, age 15 of Chisago City, Minnesota passed away October 25, 2025, as a result of injuries sustained in a tragic car accident.
A memorial service will be held to honor his life at 11:00 am, Friday, November 7, 2025, at Eaglebrook Church, 11125 Eastview Rd., Woodbury with visitation starting at 10:00 am. A private family interment will be held at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
Jax was born October 7, 2010, in Woodbury, Minnesota to Elizabeth Zarn and Cody Affolter and spent his early years in Cottage Grove before moving to Chisago City where he was currently a freshman at Chisago Lakes High School. He split time between Chisago City and Farmington with his parents. Jax played hockey while growing up and enjoyed fishing every chance he could.
Jax was someone who enjoyed a variety of activities like skateboarding, fishing, playing video games and taking care of the unique varieties of fish that he had. Many knew his creative side and could often be found drawing or capturing the moment on paper. The words that come to mind that described his personality are: funny, a friend to everyone, kind, outgoing, intelligent and caring. Family has always been number one in his life and they will all cherish the heart and soul that he brought to their lives.
He will be deeply missed by his mom Elizabeth (Derek) Zarn; dad Cody (Jessica) Affolter; siblings, Grace, Shiya, Adriana, Ariyah, Loki, Casper and Jesse; grandparents, Bruce Ness, Sherry Driscoll, Thad (Deandra) Affolter, Howie (Judy) Zins; great-grandma, Terry Willman; great-grandpa, Jim Felton; aunts and uncles Shawn (December) Orpen, Brandon (Sara) Zins as well as other family and friends.
Jax is preceded in death by his grandma Wendy Ness; great-grandparents Richard Affolter and Sandi Chapman, Arnie Ness and Deborah Felton and Gary Willman; cousins Tyler Orpen and Timothy LaBarbara.
