Jeffrey Joseph Shingledecker

With heartfelt sadness, Jeffrey "Jeff" Joseph Shingledecker, age 74 of St. Paul Park, MN, unexpectedly passed away on July 28, 2025. 

Jeff always made time for his family. Spending "family time" on Cruises, during holidays, and attending family (weddings, graduations, boy scout award ceremonies, school and sports activities, impromptu get togethers, and various parties) was always very important to him. Jeff enjoyed supervising his kids on various projects, be it home construction or auto repairs. The rest of Jeff's family time was spent attending Truck & Tractor Pull shows, playing cards, and watching Classic Western Movies (with his eyes closed). He especially loved "bugging" the grandkids and being "Grumpy Gran pa". He was a loving Husband, Dad, and Grandpa. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. 

Jeff was the youngest of seven siblings born on September 23, 1950, to LeRoy and Bernice (Marty) Shingledecker in St. Paul, MN. Jeff started his young adult life farming on the family farm in old Cottage Grove. Jeff started his Trucking Career hauling for the family farm and the local farmers in Cottage Grove. Jeff attended St. Paul Technical College, where he obtained degrees in auto mechanics, collision repair, and appliance repair. (While continuing farming and trucking) Towards the end of Jeff's farming career, he attended Brown Institute where he obtained his degree in Broadcasting. Afterwards he became a Radio Host in Berlin, WI. for a short period of time. Jeff returned to his passion of driving; which was the majority of Jeff's career owning and operating his trucks, by leasing to other companies. Jeff retired from his life of trucking in spring 2024. 

Jeff is survived by his wife Roxanne (Willhite) Shingledecker; children Toni (Timothy "Tim") Harvey, Teri (Jeremy) Klein, Jodi Boelz, Russell Colter, Jacob "Jake" (Amy) Shingledecker and Caleb "Cale" (Jamie) Shingledecker; grandchildren Jesse, Alicia, Benjermin "Ben", Travis, Steve, Sara, Annabelle, Carson, Connor, Carter, Leighton, Malachi, Eli and Iliana; five great grandsons and siblings Neil (Jeannette) Shingledecker, Nancy (Randy) Roble, Aaron Shingledecker, and other family members.

Jeff is preceded in death by his father LeRoy Shingledecker, mother Bernice "Granny" Shingledecker; siblings Jean Bloomquist, Gayle Gonsion, Penny Detviler and daughter Cassandra "Cassy" Tucker. 

Celebration of Life will be held at Kok Funeral Home - 1201 Portland Ave.; St. Paul Park, MN on Thursday, August 7, 2025. Visitation from: 10 to 11 AM with Funeral Service at: 11 AM.  Laid to Rest: Immediately following Service.  A processional to Cottage Grove Cemetery in Old Cottage Grove, MN.  A luncheon will follow the burial at Kok Funeral Home - 7676 80th Street S., Cottage Grove.
