In Loving Memory of John Allen Wenzel

July 23, 1973 - June 17, 2026

John Wenzel of Woodbury, MN passed away on June 17, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories and a hole in the hearts of everyone who loved him.

More than anything, he loved his daughters. Madelyn, Ava, and Lauryn were his greatest accomplishment, his pride and joy, and the center of his world. No matter what was happening in life, he was always Dad first. The love he had for his girls was evident in everything he did, and they will forever carry that love with them.

He spent much of his life working as an auto mechanic, a job that suited him perfectly. He had a gift for understanding how things worked and an even greater gift for fixing them. Cars, engines, appliances, projects around the house—if it was broken, chances are he could get it working again. He was the kind of person people called when they needed help, and he never hesitated to lend a hand.

When he wasn’t working, you could usually find him doing something he loved: working on cars, riding snowmobiles, golfing, four-wheeling, fishing, or attending his daughters’ sporting events. He enjoyed being outdoors, getting his hands dirty, and sharing those experiences with family and friends. He especially loved cars and the friendships that grew from that passion.

He was blessed with many good friends throughout his life. His easygoing nature, sense of humor, and willingness to help others made him someone people naturally gravitated toward. Whether it was in a garage, around a campfire, on a snowmobiling trip, or simply sharing stories and laughs, he built friendships that lasted a lifetime.

He is survived by his three daughters, Madelyn, Ava, and Lauryn; his mother, Linda; his brothers, Chad (Lesli) and Mark (Allison); his nephews, Dillan, Logan, and Lucas; his niece, Abigail; many aunts, uncles, cousins; and countless friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Al, with whom he shared a special bond and love of classic cars. The memories they made together in garages, at car shows, and working on cars together will always be cherished by those who knew them.

Though he is gone too soon, his family finds comfort in knowing that his legacy lives on in the memories and love he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A celebration of life will be held on July 25 at 11:00am, at Willow River Saloon, 1106 County Road A, Hudson, WI 54016.
