Age 83 of Cottage Grove, Minnesota
On July 26th, we lost an amazing mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Bobbi was all of these things and so much more. She lived her entire life as a giver: A giver of love, a giver of help and a giver of care.
Bobbi was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and became a nurse in St. Boniface. At twenty two years old, she and her best friends – Rae and Barb – went on a great adventure and moved to St. Paul, Minnesota to try nursing here for six months… and here they all remain over sixty years later.
As a registered nurse, Bobbi excelled in the emergency room, ICU and various other nursing roles throughout the hospital. She ended her career as the ultimate care giver, nursing at Bethany Convent and looking after the elderly resident sisters.
Bobbi’s calling did not stop at her career, as her love spread to family, friends and all who knew her. She was always there to offer advice, information or just a shoulder (and possibly an opinion or two!). Whether it was across the phone or a half day’s drive to Canada, she would always show up to help.
Bobbi met her very special love of thirty-four years while on a date at Trollhaugen Ski Area. The skiing wasn’t quite her thing, but Tom sure was. Until Tom’s passing in 2007, their marriage was a strong and mutual companionship. Their two daughters were the center of their lives, and both girls will attest to having won the parent lottery. Bobbi’s unwavering love and support in their lives will be profoundly missed.
Bobbi had a very special relationship with her granddaughter, Julia, who will proudly tell everyone that grandma was her “roomie” from their many travels and precious time spent together. Bobbi was so very proud to be Johnny’s grandma and often boasted about all of the help he would provide with chores around her house, often assembling her latest Amazon find. Not to be left out, her grand dog Rooney was the four-legged apple of grandma’s eye.
Bobbi filled her days with so many activities right up until the very end. She was an avid reader, traveler, expert quilter and had the ability to master just about any craft. Bobbi will be deeply missed by so many who were lucky to have known her.
Bobbi is survived by her daughters Danielle (Brent) Koller and Denise (Garrett) Gordon; grandchildren Julia Koller and Johnny Koller; sisters Suzanne Beaulieu and Gisele (Derrick) Mayert; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Antoine and Juliette (Dionne) Beaulieu; husband Thomas Delsing and sister Jacqueline Beaulieu.
