Kevin Nelson

Kevin Nelson, age 61 of Pequot Lakes, formerly of St. Paul Park, passed away January 19, 2018.

A memorial gathering will be 4-8 pm, Friday, January 26, 2018 at Kok Funeral Home, 1201 Portland Ave., St. Paul Park.

Kevin John Nelson was born March 13, 1956 in St. Paul, Minnesota on to Clinton and Rosemarie Nelson.  He grew up in St. Paul Park and graduated from Park High School in 1974.  He decided to follow in his dad’s footsteps and became a master plasterer by trade.  Kevin was an avid outdoorsman, he loved to hunt, fish and garden and was always up for a new adventure.  He had a good sense of humor and was known as the original “Father Nelson.”

He is preceded in death by his father Clinton Nelson and niece Marie Nelson. Kevin is survived by children Travis (Sarah Zielie) Nelson, Jodie Nelson, Kyle Nelson; grandchildren Kallen and Simon Nelson; mother Rosemarie Nelson; siblings Craig (Pam) Nelson, Kerry (Julie Schwebach) Nelson, Colleen (Earl) Miller, Tracy (Karla) Nelson, Brett Nelson; significant other Sandi Heikell-Rahkola as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
