Laura Elaine Wellbrock was born May 24, 1943 at George B. Wright Memorial Hospital in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. She grew up on a farm and moved to St. Peter, MN where Laura graduated from St. Peter High School. Laura attended Mankato State Teachers College pursuing a degree in Pre-Med. Laura and David McKenzy were married September 7, 1963. Two wonderful children, Kathy and Michelle and would do just anything for them. We had many beautiful memories of times spent at our lake cabin. Laura passed from this earth into God?s Holy Kingdom February 22, 2005.
Preceded in death by father Herbert Wellbrock, grandmother Dami Hansen.
Survived by loving husband of 42 years, David; daughters Kathleen (Scott) Chernisky and Michelle (Scott) Lewis; grandchildren Nick and Andrew Chernisky, Joshua and Tyler Lewis; mother Edna Wellbrock; sisters Hazel (Virgil) Gaard, Dawn (Fran) Reinardy; brother Owen (Donna) Wellbrock.
Funeral Service 11:30 A.M. Saturday at ST. ANDREW?S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1000 Portland Ave, St. Paul Park. Interment Cottage Grove Cemetery. Visitation 4-8 PM Friday at KOK FUNERAL HOME, 7676 80TH St. S. Cottage Grove (651-459-2875) and 10:30-11:30 Saturday at church.
