Leila Rose Schneider, 93 of Cottage Grove, passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2009.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 80th Street, Cottage Grove with visitation after 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery.
Leila Rose Schneider was born December 21, 1915 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, the daughter of Elmer & Ada (Jones) Stevens. She moved with her family at an early age to St. Paul and attended school there. Following her mother’s untimely death she quit school to stay home and assist in raising her siblings. She was united in marriage to Henry George Schneider in 1936. The couple made their home in Roseville on Lake Owasso, she was a housekeeper for many families in her neighborhood over the years. In 1983 she moved to Lake Worth, Florida where she lived for 25 years returning to Minnesota in 2002. She especially enjoyed traveling and had visited Italy, Norway, Sweden & Hawaii for extended periods of time. She also enjoyed gardening, was and avid reader and swimmer.
Leila is survived by her daughter, Virginia Vibo, granddaughters; Traci Vibo & Lori Bemis, great-grandson Carter Bemis, & her brother, Bob (Jean) Stevens. Preceded by her husband, Henry, son, James, brother, Don, & her sister, Virginia.
