Linda L. Spies

Linda L. Spies, age 77, of Cottage Grove, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 12, 2025.

Preceded in death by parents, Leonard and Leila Mork; siblings, Maxine Boehnke, Roger Mork, and Julie McCarty. Survived by husband, Ron; sons, Terence (Wendy) and Daniel (Dawn); grandsons, August, Blue, and Carsten; siblings, Alan Mork, Diane Stegemann, Peggy Kenney, Bradley Mork, Sandy Hocraffer; and other loving family and friends.

Linda was an accomplished artist that loved portraiture, working in watercolors, oils, tempera, and sculpture. She attended the Minneapolis School of Art (now MCAD), had paintings published in “Best of Watercolor” and Artist’s Magazine, taught art classes around the Midwest, and won several awards.

Linda was a world traveler, and adventurous enough to move her young family to Australia for four years. She loved exploring the Midwest and hiking on her favorite little island in St Paul Park. She will be deeply missed.

A memorial service and reception is planned for 2pm on Saturday, May 17th in the Community Room at Norris Square Senior Living, 6995 80th St S, Cottage Grove, MN.
