Lona E. Running

Lona E. Running, age 89, of Cottage Grove, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 26, 2023 in the comfort of her home with her loved ones by her side. 

Preceded in death by daughter, Dorothy “Dolly”; grandchildren, Lance, David, Jill, Josie, and Tiombe; parents, Arthur and Esther Swanson; and brothers, Norman Dornfeld and Kenneth Swanson. 

Survived by devoted husband of 66 years, Roy; children, Lynn Kensy, Brenda Albert, LaRae Cryer, LeRoy Jr. (Judy), and Bruce (Julie); 54 grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and many other loving family and friends.

Lona was a loving woman who welcomed everyone with open arms; to know her was to love her. She will live on in the memories of many and missed deeply by all. 

Funeral Service 2 PM with visitation beginning at 1 PM, Saturday, December 2, 2023 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 11900 Manning Ave. S., Hastings, MN 55033. Burial 11:30 AM, Tuesday, December 5, 2023 (Assembly Area #4; please be there by 11:15 AM) at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, 7601 34^th Ave. S., Minneapolis, MN 55450.
