Lonny Ambright

Lonny Joseph Ambright, age 60 of Cottage Grove, passed away February 16, 2018 at home while under the care of hospice and surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral service will be 11:00 am Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 -80th Street S., Cottage Grove.  Visitation will be 4:00 – 8:00 pm Monday, February 19, 2018 at the funeral home and also one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.  Interment will be in the Cottage Grove Cemetery.  Memorials are preferred.  A special thank you with love and appreciation for the compassionate care of the hospice team, big brother Byron and Dr. Daniel Moriarty.

Lonny Joseph Ambright was born November 15, 1957 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Frank and Pearl (Bushey) Ambright.  He grew up in West St. Paul and graduated from Sibley High School in 1975.  Lonny met the love of his life, Janet Larson and they were joined in marriage in Minneapolis on April 28, 1979.  Lonny was a truck driver who worked for Coca Cola Bottling and US Foods for several years.  Lonny enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a devout Viking fan who wore his purple proudly.  He was a proud papa who was deeply devoted to his wife, children and grandchildren…They were the true joy of his life.

Lonny is survived by his wife Janet; son Joseph (Susan); daughters Rebecca (Ryan) Halvorson and Sherri (Daniel) Poirier; grandchildren Kaylee, Gracie, Payton and Camden; brother Byron and many nieces, nephews and friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents and four siblings.
