Louise Lorraine Soby, age 95, of Cottage Grove, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2020.
Louise was born April 16, 1925 near Leroy, North Dakota to John and Veronica (Bruce) Bartlette. She moved to St. Paul in the late 1940s and was employed as a nursing assistant and administrator while working at Ancker Hospital and Ramsey County Medical Center, before it became Regions Hospital. She retired in 1988. Louise enjoyed being on the go and took every opportunity to travel. Through the years, she visited almost every state in the US and enjoyed going on road trips with her sisters.
Louise saw many changes through the years and loved to reflect on the fact that she had grown up riding in the “horse and buggy” and lived long enough to take a Trans-Atlantic flight to Europe. She enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles, but her pride and joy was spending time with her family.
Louise is survived by her children Ronica Weigand Carlstrom, Richard Soby, Arthur Jr. “Duke” (significant other Linda) Soby, Timothy (LaWanna) Soby; 9 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter Emily Royce; daughter-in-law Carole Soby as well as many siblings.
Private family services will be held.
