Marvin Sauers

age 82, of St. Paul Park on Wednesday morning August 6, 2008 at Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury.

Marvin Herbert Sauers was born August 29, 19 25 in International Falls the son of Val & Mamie (McVicar) Sauers. He was raised in Little Fork, Minnesota . Marv served in The United States Navy as a petty officer in the Seabees during World War II from 1943-1946. Following his service Marvin sailed the Great Lakes as an engineer. On January 8, 19 49 he was united in marriage to Shirley McLeod in Superior , Wisconsin . Marv was employed by the Minnesota Pipeline from 1955 until 1990. Marvin enjoyed gardening both vegetables and flowers. He was a man with many hobbies often building models and painting Ukrainian eggs. Marvin loved to read and play chess. He will be remembered as a man who was constantly learning. Marv was an active member of The Harbor Church.

He is the beloved husband of Shirley; loving father of Marvin “Chip” (Gloria), Jeanette (Roger), Gary (Kari), Mark; grandfather of Minsan, Maselan, Paris, Aeron, Ryan, Matt, Beth, Emaly, Quinn, Rhiannon, Sarah; great-grandfather of Clarisse, Duncan, William, Jeremiah, Zachariah, Mara, Haley, Lexi, Marin, Reice, Addyson, Gavin, Jaystin, many nieces & nephews.

Memorial Service 2 PM Saturday August 9 at THE HARBOR CHURCH , 11125 Pt. Douglas Dr. S. Hastings . Private inurnment Ft. Snelling .
