Mary Lucas

Age 81 of St. Paul Park on May 28, 2009 .

Mary Evelyn was born February 4, 19 28 in Minneapolis the daughter of John & Lorretta (Mahoney) Moore . She was raised in NorthEast Minneapolis and graduated from Edison High School . On July 3, 19 53 she was united in marriage with Hollis Ray Lucas in San Diego , California . She retired from Burlington Northern Railroad in 1994. She will be remembered for her devotion to her family. Mary loved children and enjoyed walking to the park, meeting with the Wednesday girls, and bowling. She was a sports fan and speed skated at Powderhorn Park . She loved Logan Park .

Mary is survived by loving husband of 55 years Hollis “Luke”; children Laurie (Dave) Hemmingson, Vicki Grossman, Randy (Jenny), Todd (Sue), Gregg (Amy), Mike (Michelle); 14 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sister Phyl Malone, brothers Gene & James (Bobbi) Moore, many nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents John & Loretta Moore, sister Eileen Clubb, brother Joe (Shirley) Moore.

Mass of Christian Burial 9:30 AM Monday at ST. THOMAS AQUINAS CATHOLIC CHURCH , 920 Holley, St. Paul Park . Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery . Visitation 3-7 PM Sunday at KOK FUNERAL HOME, 1201 Portland Avenue St. Paul Park (651-459-2875). Memorials preferred.
