Michael R. Fischer, Beloved husband, father, soon to be grandfather, son, son-in-law, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, nephew and cousin.
Mike passed peacefully at Woodwinds Hospital on October 21, 2025. He fought so hard for years to beat his cancer with the help of his doctors who wouldn't give up, his wife by his side every step of the way, and so much family support.
Mike is survived by his brokenhearted wife of 38 years Deb; loving son Austin (Brianna); loving daughter Marissa & his dog Samson (who was always by his side); mother Loretta Fischer; sister Anne (Ryan) Ratcliffe; brother Tom (Jane) Fischer and many nieces and nephews.
Mike was proceeded in death by his father Ramon Fischer; sister Beth Huberty, & brother-in-law Jerry Huberty.
Mike loved the outdoors! Camping and hunting with his family. Rock hounding with his wife and son. He had a newer passion for the Pacific Northwest, where his daughter lives, and made annual road trips there in the last several years. This year's trip being extra special- stopping to see family along the way. He loved the mountains and the ocean but spent his lifetime on our Mn salt-free ocean, Lake Superior, as he was born in Duluth and continued to be up north any chance he could. He also loved the Emily area and spent many summers with family- four wheeling and boating. He also spent time with his brother in the Rocky Mountains. Very blessed!
Mike could make anything. Give him a project and he would find a way to get it done. He was the ultimate at reuse, repurpose. If you needed something, Ask Mike, he would possibly have it or could find it. And if one is good, 10 is better! (Chuckle)
Special thanks to the amazing staff at Woodwinds! Also thank you to Dr. MIKHAIL at Alina Cottage Grove, and Dr. Hugec & Marisue (RN) and staff at Mn Oncology in Maplewood.
