Michelle Geraghty-Burns

Michelle Marie Geraghty-Burns, age 67, of Cottage Grove, MN, formally from Maplewood, MN, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, December 29th, 2022.

Michelle was born on June 28th, 1955, to Rhoda Esther (Vogelgesang) Geraghty and John Willard Geraghty.

Michelle worked for 34 years with the MN Department of Transportation and Department of Revenue. In 2005 she took an early retirement to care for her daughter, Megan.

Michelle also went by Shellie and Tina. She enjoyed spending time with friends, family, and her cat, Fluffy. Michelle had a heart of gold and was always patient and kind. She dedicated her time for everyone. She always put everyone before herself. Michelle was very faithful; she said her Rosary daily and prayed for everyone around her. Michelle was loved and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Michelle was preceded by her parents. Rhoda and John Geraghty, and sister Mary Van Den Boom. Recently joined by her brother, John.

Michelle is survived by her daughters, Christina "BC" (Chris) and Megan; grandchildren, Brian "Smurf", Christopher "Cringle" or "LC", Alayah, and Zayde; brothers, Dan and Tim (Pam); sister Patty (Gary); sister-in-law, Kathy and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Services will be held at Saint Rita's Catholic Church in Cottage Grove on January 11th, 2023, with visitation 10-11am and Mass of Christian Burial at 11am. Burial immediately following at Elmhurst Cemetery.
