Mildred Bertha Schmit

Mildred “Millie” Bertha Schmit, age 93, of Cottage Grove, passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, April 12, 2023.

Millie was a loving mother and grandmother, devout Catholic, and talented Pianist and Bell Choir Member. She will be missed by many friends, especially her church friends.

Millie is survived by her children, Joe (Patty), Dan, Mary (Michael), and Ann; grandchildren, Joe, Maria (Ian), Matt, Miranda, Brendan (Leah), Kaylee (Phil), John (Katelynn), Jennifer, Jacob, Jesse (Stephanie), and Casey (Betty); great grandchildren, Makenna, Melissa, Shealynn, Alecia, Tyler, Hannah, Ryleigh, Sunnie, Hugh, Poppy, and Christian; and son-in-law, Steve.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marcel; children, Gerard, and Michelle; son-in-law, Bob; siblings, Gregory, Alvina, Angie, Eleanor, and Alfred; and her parents, Bernard, and Cecelia.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am on Tuesday, April 25, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church (920 Holley Ave, St. Paul Park, MN) with visitation beginning at 9:30am. A visitation will also be held at Kok Funeral Home (7676 80^th Street S. Cottage Grove, MN) on Monday, April 24, 4pm-8pm. Millie will be laid to rest at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
