Mitchell Earl Wichser Jr., age 41, of Cottage Grove, passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 while surrounded by loving family.
Mitch was the kind of person who could walk into a room and instantly change its energy. He didn’t fake smiles or play along with anyone’s expectations. He was just himself, and somehow that was always enough.
He was funny in the real way, the kind that came from being bold and honest. He could make you laugh even when he was roasting you, and you’d still walk away loving him more for it.
Mitch loved horror movies, rap music, and anything raw and real. He lived life the same way-unapologetic, full of heart, and always on his own terms.
He could work fourteen days straight, twelve hours a day, and still show up for the people who needed him. He was generous to his core. No matter how tired he was, he always found time for others.
Under his tough, hard-edged shell was a loyal, soft-hearted man. He loved his daughter and his nieces deeply, and with them, you saw a gentleness that said everything about who he truly was.
Mitch was an artist through and through. Whether it was spray paint, airbrush, wood burning, or customizing horror heads, anything creative he touched became something extraordinary. His art carried his soul in it.
He stood up for people who couldn’t stand up for themselves. When someone was being picked on, he spoke up, even if it meant standing against his own friends. That was just who he was.
Through his decision to be an organ donor, Mitch gave one final act of generosity-a gift that continues to touch lives beyond his own. It was perfectly in character for him to keep helping others, even after he was gone.
Mitch lived hard, loved real, and stayed true to himself until the very end. That’s how he’ll always be remembered.
Preceded in death by father, Mitchell Sr. Survived by wife, Jasmine; daughter, Haylie Wichser-Smith; mother, Jodi (Steven) Davis; brother, Walter Jacob; and many other loving family and friends.
