Swanson (nee Englund),

Muriel Louise, age 85 of Cottage Grove formerly of St. Paul, passed away on November 28, 2020.

Muriel was born on October 25, 1935 in Isanti, Minnesota, to Everett and Evelyn Englund. She grew up on Summit Avenue in St. Paul. Muriel liked to play piano and even played with Elvis Presley one time! In her working years, she was the manager of Jewelry at LaBelle’s and had the opportunity of selling many pieces to Prince. In her spare time, Muriel enjoyed going to Como Zoo and the State Fair with her grandchildren. She was always up for an adventure and was known as an incredible prankster. Most of all, Muriel was a lover of children.

She is survived by Richard Swanson; her children; Tracy (Dennis) LaCroix, Ward (Mary), Wayne (Nancy), and Rick (Michelle); many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Muriel is preceded in death by her parents; Everett and Evelyn Englund; and brother Dwayne Englund.

A private family memorial service will be held Monday, December 14. A public Celebration of Muriel’s life will be on a future date.
