Nancy Brick

June 4, 1954 — March 16, 2026

It is with heavy hearts we share the unexpected passing of our precious wife, mom and grandma Nancy Brick at age 71 of Cottage Grove, Minnesota on March 16, 2026.

Nancy was born on June 4, 1954 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Ralph and Mary Westcott. She grew up the only daughter surrounded by her four brothers in south Minneapolis, MN. She graduated from Roosevelt High School and then graduated from the University of Minnesota in legal studies. Nancy married the love her life, Michael Brick on June 23, 1984. They made their home in Cottage Grove raising their family. She had a long career working as a legal secretary for Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid.

Over the years Nancy enjoyed playing softball, broomball and traveling with her high school friends. She also enjoyed embroidery which she learned from her mother. Cross-stitching was her latest passion while watching game shows on TV. Nancy was very involved in her religious community, volunteering to teach Sunday school, lector, and acolyte at services. But she really found her calling being a greeter at church. Her warm and welcoming spirit was contagious. Nancy loved listening to music and attended many concerts over the years. She was an eager fisherman, always wanting to bet on the first fish caught, the biggest, and the most. Nancy always looked forward to her time with friends whether it was trips to Duluth, cookie exchanges or just hanging out. She was also involved in assisting and participating in the activities at the South Washington County Senior Center. The heart of Nancy's life was built around time with her family especially her grandchildren. She will be missed for her bright beautiful smile, kindness, warmth, and welcoming outgoing personality, as well as, her natural ease and lighthearted approach to life. She will always hold a special place in our hearts. Nancy was beautiful inside and out.

Nancy is survived by her husband of over 41 years Michael; son Philip (Angela) Brick; daughter Shannon (Yongcha Thao) Brick; grandchildren Rin and Sophia; brothers Ralph (Rebecca), James (Nancy), Thomas (Theresa) and Randolph (Patricia) and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Mary Westcott.

Funeral service will be at 11 AM on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at Christ Episcopal Church; 7305 Afton Rd; Woodbury, MN with a visitation from 9 - 11 AM. All are invited to a luncheon following the service. Interment will be at Cottage Grove Cemetery in Cottage Grove, MN at a later date.
