Nancy McComas

50, of Cottage Grove, formerly of Tom’s River, New Jersey, passed away at her daughters home in Cottage Grove on Tuesday morning, September 28, 2009 following a lengthy illness.

Gathering 3-6 Pm with Service at 5 PM on Thursday Oct. 8 at Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals O’Connell Chapel, 706 Rt. 9 Bayville, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Allina Hospice, 1055 Westgate Dr Ste 100 , St. Paul MN 55114 .

Nancy McComas was born July 28, 1959 in Paterson , New Jersey , the daughter of Edward F. and Mayzie (Sisco) DeBlock. At an early age she moved to Brick, New Jersey and was raised and educated there, graduating from Brick High School . She was married to Glenn Mc Comas on March 20, 1977. They made their home in various states while Glen served in the military; North Carolina , Virginia , and California . In 1982 they moved to Tom’s River, NJ and she raised her family. Nancy especially enjoyed crocheting and cross stitch and was an avid avid fan of all sports, however, the world stopped when the Yankees were playing. In 2008 she moved to Cottage Grove and had been employed in housekeeping at the Country Inn & Suites in Woodbury.

She is survived by her two daughters; Jessica (John) Colwell, Shawna (Chris) Henninger, two grandchildren; Andrew & Cierra, and her sister, Mayzie (Tony) Festa. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Jackie.
