Philip James Dreyer was born on November 4, 1959, in Logansport, Indiana to Robert and Mary Dreyer. He grew up in North St. Paul MN, where he graduated from North High School. Phil went on to earn both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Computer Science from the College of St. Thomas.
Phil was the best. Hands down. Best husband, father, friend, leader, computer repair guy, debater, teacher of all subjects, the list goes on. He was the kind of guy you'd never want to lose. Phil is survived by 7 siblings; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; as well as many nieces and nephews. But he will be rejoicing in heaven with his parents, Mary and Duke; his father-in-law, Buz; as well as brother-in-law, Robert Zapien.
Phil lived a life filled with so many loves. His love for his wife, Mary Sue and mother-in-law, Pat. His love for his kids, Kevin and Erin. Phil had a great love for all his friends and family, and strangers he'd help along the way. His life was also filled with a love of baseball, trivia, board games, traveling, and again-the list goes on.
Being lead singer for 40 years in "the band", he shared his gift of music with the world. Genealogy was also a passion of his, and Phil was so excited to have recently been elected president of the MN Genealogical Society.
So much life was lived in his short 65 years, but man were they lived to the fullest. Phil was able to travel to 8 countries, 40 states, and 15 baseball stadiums. He collected Santa Bears, 1 Model A, and over 200 board games. Phil ordained a wedding and could list movie quotes and "dad" jokes like no other.
The light he shined on all of us will continue to shine, as we honor Phil every day. His generosity, kindness, loyalty, and silliness will live on through us. Phil will always be with us; in our hearts, and in our souls. This isn't goodbye, just see you later.
