Ramiro "Medo" Resendez

July 19, 1958 — March 30, 2026

St. Paul

Ramiro "Medo" Resendez, age 67, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2026.

Medo was born July 19, 1958 in Saint Paul, MN to Carlos and Maria Resendez. He worked for La Canasta/Mission Foods for thirty years, as well as for the railroad. Medo volunteered with the Newport Fire Department for ten years. His love of the Annual Newport Booya brought him to his years of service, and he cherished his time with his fellow volunteer firefighters.

Medo could be found Saturday mornings in his garage recording "Tex-Mex" music to share CDs with friends and family. His garage was the spot for many parties and barbeques, always accompanied by Medo’s great music. On rare occasions he would even get up to dance! He loved Minnesota sports, especially the Vikings, or as he and his nephew, Chubs, would call them, "The Vik-Queens!"

He would do anything for his cats, Bonnie and Clyde, spoiling them with toys and cat trees. Medo was creative and made homemade coasters. His special friend, Yvonne Minor, would help him sell at flea markets and craft shows which brought them great joy. However, the most meaningful coasters he created were to honor his loved ones who had died.

Medo’s mechanical skills extended to his love of NASCAR. He collected Dale Earnhardt memorabilia, always dreaming of going to Daytona to see the racetrack in person. A cherished memory was going to Cedar Lake Speedway with family to see the races. Medo shared a special connection with his nephew, Ronnie, especially over their love of cars. God must have needed mechanics, and Ronnie needed his uncle’s second opinion, as they died only two days apart.

Medo was a kind-hearted person, always going out of his way to give to others, especially if it would bring a smile to their face. Towards the end of his life, he remarked that the most important thing to him was his family.

He was preceded in death by his father Carlos Resendez Sr.; siblings, George Caudillo, Raul Resendez, and Rosendo "Redd" Resendez; nephews, Arthur "Chubs" and Ronald "Ronnie" Wadena.

He is survived by his sons, Ramie and Nathan Ryan; mother, Maria Resendez Bath; siblings, Olivia Schoen, Carlos Resendez Jr. "Pete" (Sue); Rogelio "Bob" Resendez (Heidi), Linda Mace (Rick), and Elvira Resendez; grandchildren; and other loving family and friends.
