Renee Gabriel

Renee L. Gabriel (Mouw), 47, died suddenly at her home on March 30, 2018.  She was born on November 16, 1970 to Mary Lou (Haughian) and Robert Gabriel in St. Paul.  Renee grew up and attended school in Cottage Grove.

She was married on August 13, 2016 to Steve Mouw, her best friend.   Renee resided in Inver Grove Heights and worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield.  One of her greatest joys was being called Auntie Nay by Elizabeth and Alex Hunt and Gammy Nay by her granddaughters Hattie and Ophelia.  She loved all animals, especially her own sweet cats and dogs over the years (JB, Kitty Girl, Misty, Sierra, Big Boy and Althea).  Renee also had the gift of giving loving care to the elderly.

She is survived by her husband, Steve Mouw, her parents Bob and Mary Lou, her sister Michelle Hunt, brother-in-law, Matt Hunt (kids Elizabeth and Alex), step children: Gerrid and Kylie Mouw (daughter Norah), Kate and Ezra Breyfogle (daughters Hattie and Ophelia) and Jason Mouw.

Memorial service 7 pm, Monday, April 2, 2018 at Kok Funeral Home (7676 80th St. S., Cottage Grove, MN) with visitation starting at 4 pm.
