Richard James "Rick" Saindon, 76, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on June 25, 2026.
Born on February 26, 1950, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Rick was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and man of unwavering faith whose life was defined by his deep love for the Lord Jesus Christ and for his family. Those who knew Rick understood that these were never competing priorities-they were inseparable. His faith shaped the way he loved his family, served others, approached every challenge, and viewed the world around him.
Rick spent his life approaching challenges with curiosity, determination, and a desire to understand the world around him. Guided by his Christian faith and a commitment to seeking truth, he was never afraid to ask difficult questions, explore new ideas, or look beyond conventional thinking. Whether discussing technology, current events, the future, or life's biggest questions, Rick possessed an insatiable curiosity that inspired countless conversations and left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
A visionary in the field of technology, Rick built a distinguished career serving Fortune 500 companies through innovation, analytical thinking, and creative problem-solving. Among his many accomplishments, he co-authored and implemented software that played a key role in Target's first major transition to a computerized price lookup and point-of-sale system. He was also awarded a United States patent for "Systems and Methods for Automated Audio Transcription, Translation, and Transfer," a reflection of the ingenuity and perseverance that defined both his professional and personal life.
Rick's talents extended beyond his career. He generously used his gifts to serve others through data transformation work for Union Gospel Mission and by creating a United States election integrity reporting system. He found joy in spending time with his family, embracing the Florida lifestyle he loved, exploring emerging technologies, following current events, and imagining what the future might hold. Whatever the subject, Rick had an extraordinary ability to make people think, laugh, and see the world from a different perspective.
Rick is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Kay Saindon; his children, Joshua and Kellie Saindon, and their children, Lukas, Levi, and Lincoln; Joel and Holli Saindon, and their daughters, Ariya and Olivia; SarahJane and Steven Thomas, and their children, Olivia (Ramsey), Ethan, Callum, Corryn, Verity, and Nynaeve, along with their grandson, Dean; Timothy Drake and Samantha Lynn Hart, and their children, Alex, Liam, and Chloe; and Elizabeth and Austin Colden, and their son, James. He is also survived by his siblings, Stephen Saindon, Jody (Jack) VandenBranden, Leon (Nancy) Saindon, Patrice (Jeffrey) Wiesner, and Michael (Lenora) Saindon; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends, all of whom held a special place in his heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Loren and Lorraine Saindon; his beloved grandchildren, Alexandra, Sören, and Simone; and his cherished in-laws, Barbara Saindon, Carolyn and Bruce Ward, Cynthia Lietzke, Robbie Hughes, and Thomas Zopfi.
Known for his resilience, unwavering faith, remarkable intellect, and commitment to living according to his convictions, Rick never stopped learning, questioning, or dreaming. His greatest legacy is not the technology he helped create or the accomplishments he achieved, but the faith he lived, the family he loved, and the countless lives he influenced through his wisdom, generosity, humor, and steadfast example. Though he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort and hope in the promise that, through faith in Jesus Christ, they will one day be joyfully reunited with him.
