Rudolph "Rudy" V. Martinez, age 99 of Cottage Grove, Minnesota passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026.
Rudolph Valentino Martinez was born October 17, 1926 to Esperison and Reyes Martinez in Horton, Kansas. He married the love of his life, Frances on November 19, 1949. Rudy was a World War II Veteran, past Commander of the VFW Post 6845 and President of the Local 132 Laborers Union. Over the years, Rudy enjoyed hunting, playing softball and bowling. He always looked forward to time with family but especially loved to watch his grandchildren and great grandchildren play sports. He will be deeply missed by all.
Rudy is survived by his brother Danny Rivera; children Rudy (Laura), Jenny (Gene) Severtson, Michelle (Gabriel), and Ric (Bonnie); grandchildren Jason, Ben, Stephanie, Missy, Gene, Mike, Vincent "Tony", Rico, Brittany, Antonio, Micaela and Emily; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and extended family. He is preceded in death by his wife Frances; sons Dan and Billy as well as several siblings.
Memorial Service will be at 11 AM on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 80th St. S., Cottage Grove with a visitation one hour prior to the service from 10-11 AM. All are invited to luncheon following the service. Interment with military honors will be at 2 PM the same day at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, 7601 34th Ave S.; Minneapolis, MN - Assembly Area # 2 (arrive by 1:45 PM).
