Sharon Hegstrom

Sharon Hegstrom (née Anderson) died peacefully on July 24th, 2022 in Shoreview, Minnesota at the age of 70.

Sharon is survived by her sons, Theodore (Amanda) and William; grandsons, Logan and Theo; Siblings, Larry (Julie), John (Bonnie), Karl (Debbie), and Nancy (Jeff). She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Ardith.

Sharon was born on October 31st, 1951 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Ardith Larson. After earning her associate's degree, she spent nearly 20 years working for Sears, Roebuck and Co. while also caring for her beloved family and mother-in-law.

Later in life, Sharon went back to school to earn a Bachelor's degree from Concordia University where she graduated summa cum laude. She retired in 2020 from a 20 year-long career at Century College that she adored and co-workers she was sad to leave.

In her spare time, Sharon was an avid reader, she loved to cook especially on holidays, and she loved travelling to see her family when she was able.

Sharon lost her 18-month-long battle with cancer, but the memory of her selflessness, kindness, and love for her siblings, sons, and grandsons live on.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at 1:00 PM with visitation beginning at 11:00 AM at Kok Funeral Home (7676 80th Street South, Cottage Grove, MN). All are welcome to attend and celebrate Sharon’s life.

The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of Minnesota Oncology - Maplewood, and the caregivers of Saint Therese Senior Living at St. Odilia for their dedication.
