Sharon Valento

Sharon Valento, age 80 of St. Paul Park, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2025.

A memorial service will be 11:00 am on Friday, June 13, 2025 at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 80th Street S., Cottage Grove with visitation one hour prior. The committal service will be held at Resurrection Cemetery with lunch following.

Sharon May (Rose) Valento was born on March 17, 1945, in St. Paul, Minnesota, to Gerald and Viola (Olson) Rose. She was the youngest of three siblings. Sharon graduated from Monroe High School in St. Paul, Minnesota in 1963. A few years later, she met Joseph Valento, and the two were married on August 5, 1967.

Sharon dedicated much of her career to medical billing, working with several healthcare facilities, including St. Luke's Hospital, which later became United Hospital.

Family was always at the heart of Sharon's life. In her early years of marriage, she loved hosting and entertaining guests. Known for her generous spirit, she found great joy in giving to others and making people feel special.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Lori (fiancé Michael Dane) and her granddaughter Ashley (Megan) Rose. Sharon was preceded in death by her husband Joseph; son Patrick; parents Gerald and Viola, and siblings Carol Wendel and Jerry Rose.
